Greenport 8/99

The weather was fine on Saturday for LISSA's arrival at each of the two marinas on the north fork of Long Island. If you haven't been there yet, do plan a trip there for it is a wonderful cruising destination. Laid back, very friendly and casual.

Thanks to the coordinators who pulled together a fun rendezvous. Early suggestions for this weekend were made by Harry Gonzales and then final arrangements were organized by Commodore Linnartz.

Dinner on Saturday was only a short walk away on a pleasant evening. The Sunday morning breakfast was arranged by Greenport resident Jeff Wentz who at the time had a Sabre 28 but by the time of this posting, now owns a Sabre 34! Great job on the breakfast....but you get demerits for the weather....tornado in the vicinity and a torrential downpour at the marina. Although only a short walk from the docks to a covered patio at Brewer's, the grounds were flooded and everyone got wet.

Photos were taken by Nancy DeVries, scanned and then uploaded to LISSA's website. As with the other photo galleries, please be patient for all the photos to appear on your browser.

Enjoy!
